My background and approach
I’m a licensed psychologist with more than 25 years of psychotherapy experience, including 17 years working in collegiate mental health. I specialize in helping young adults overcome problems, navigate transitions, and build self-awareness through culturally sensitive psychotherapy.
I do this by creating a space where you feel safe to share your experiences and feelings. Together, we’ll identify and explore any limiting patterns or beliefs that may not be serving you any longer. We can process past feelings holding these patterns in place and collaboratively develop strategies to make them less automatic, build alternatives, and increase your freedom to choose how you respond, think, and behave.
Group Therapy: interpersonal patterns
I also provide group therapy, which offers young adults the opportunity to reflect on how their interpersonal patterns show up in the moment-to-moment interactions with their fellow group members. Within this structure, you can build trust, obtain support, and realize that you’re not alone in experiencing difficulties along your life’s journey. You can also build experiential insight into how you respond to others and try new ways of relating to the world around you.
Couples Therapy: partner dynamics
Finally, I also specialize in couples therapy, helping partners better communicate and learn how they are triggering each other. We’ll work as a team to reverse triggering cycles as we seek to rekindle warmth and love in your relationship.
